Church of St. Anthony of Padua

With the permission of Montenegrin Prince Nikola, in 1901 the construction of the Catholic Church of St. Anthony of Padua began in Cetinje, according to the design of the Italian architect A. C. Corradini. In addition to numerous donors, assistance for the construction of the only Catholic place of worship in Cetinje was provided by Pope Leo XII, Joseph Strossmayer, the Italian Queen Jelena and Prince Nikola. The Church of St. Anthony is a single-nave building, built of stone, with a transverse transept and a flat ceiling.
